Description
Omega-3 Vegan
Vegetable seaweed oil
"Omega-3 Vegan" (100 ml) is a unique combination of seaweed and cold-pressed olive oil (antioxidant) from a controlled organic farm. The daily dose (5 ml / 1 teaspoon) contains 2000 mg of Omega-3 fatty acids. Algae oil is rich in DHA (DHA) and EPA (EPA) fatty acids, making it an optimal source of Omega-3 for those who wish to eliminate any animal product from their diet.
Product information
Seaweed oil
"Omega-3 Vegan" contains pure seaweed oil. The oil is extracted from the microalgae Schizochytrium sp. It is a microscopic algae that feeds exclusively on organic and plant material such as dead leaves. The microalgae Schizochytrium sp. is particularly rich in Omega-3 DHA (DHA) and EPA (EPA) marine fatty acids. It is therefore ideal for the production of Omega-3 Vegan oil.
The production process is sustainable and environmentally friendly. The marine microalgae we use "Omega-3 Vegan" for the production of the product do not come from the sea, but are grown in large tanks containing artificial seawater. This saves resources and preserves the nutritional base of the fish. In this way, we do not interfere with the natural marine ecosystem, and the food supply of fish and krill remains intact.
For more information, see here.
100% Vegetable
"Omega-3 Vegan is a 100% plant-based product with no fish or other animal ingredients. It is ideal for vegetarians and vegans. Marine Omega-3 fatty acids are from the marine microalgae Schizochytrium sp.
The production of our algae oil and capsules is separate from the production of our other products, so there's no chance of traces of animal products in these products.
Natural olive oil as an antioxidant
Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids are particularly "sensitive" and easily degraded, so they need to be "protected" not only before consumption, but also in the body when consumed. That's why this oil contains 25% of cold-pressed organic olive oil, which acts as a natural and powerful antioxidant. We have chosen this olive oil because it is rich in polyphenols, known for their antioxidant properties. It is the polyphenol content of olive oil that protects the Omega-3 fatty acids from oxidation.
Olive oil, which is rich in polyphenols, is characterised by a tingling sensation in the throat and a slightly bitter taste when swallowed. The oil we use is born on a family farm in Spain. Here, Rafael and his family focus on organic farming and sustainability, and we visit him regularly.

Importance of marine Omega-3 fatty acids
Omega-3 fatty acids are essential polyunsaturated fatty acids that are not produced by the mammalian body and must therefore be obtained from the diet. However, a distinction must be made between the plant-based Omega-3 fatty acid ALA and the two marine Omega-3 fatty acids EPR and DHA.
The fatty acid ALA (alpha-linolenic acid) is found in flax and chia seeds, flaxseed oil or nuts. However, it is not absorbed by the body, but is instead translated into the other two fatty acids, EPA and DHA. However, this conversion factor is very low, only 05-10%.
EPA and DHA fatty acids are found only in algae, fish or krill. These two fatty acids, EPA and DHA, are essential for the human body because they are part of the membrane of every cell in our body. They are especially necessary for our heart, brain and eyes. This has been proven by numerous research.

** EFSA data show a daily intake of 250 mg EPR and DHA.

Not all Omega-3 acids are the same
You should be aware that the body can only absorb EPA and DHA fatty acids, which are only found in fish, algae or krill. Many Omega-3 vegetable oils and capsules do not contain these marine fatty acids, but only the vegetable Omega-3 fatty acid ALA (alpha linolenic acid).
Vegetable oils such as linseed oil are particularly high in ALA. Chia nuts and seeds also contain ALA. However, although this "plant" Omega-3 fatty acid can be converted by the body into the essential fatty acids EPA and DHA, this conversion rate is only 0.5-10% (depending on weight, metabolism, etc.).
This diagram explains why linseed oil alone is not enough.
2 grams of Omega-3 per day
Our Omega-3 Vegan oil contains 2 g of marine Omega-3 fatty acids (1 teaspoon) per day. This amount of marine fatty acids is recommended to balance the Omega-6/3 ratio and compensate for Omega-3 deficiency. This recommendation is based on the results of an analysis of fatty acid levels, as well as numerous scientific studies and articles. For more up-to-date research summaries and specialised articles, see our in the library.
Consumption
Quality and freshness are key
The exclusive and meticulous production process guarantees the exceptional quality and freshness of our algae oil. The freshness of the oil is essential to guarantee a pleasant taste and smell. A few drops of natural lemon oil complement the pleasant taste of seaweed oil.
"Omega-3 Vegan oil is well tolerated due to its freshness: it does not cause reflux and does not have an unpleasant odour. You can check for yourself!
