For example, you can easily add the oil to juices, smoothies or sauces, yoghurt, cottage cheese or porridge. Even in soup or main dishes, as long as they are not too hot.

1 tablespoon or teaspoon of Omega-3 oil per day

The total recommended dose is 2000 mg of Omega-3 per day. This is based on scientific studies and more than 30 000 individual fatty acid analyses we have carried out. This is equivalent to approximately 1 tablespoon "Omega-3 Total" and "Omega-3 Arctic" or 1 teaspoon "Omega-3 Vegan" per day.

Regular use

Regular use is the key to success. A daily serving of Omega-3s is the key to achieving therapeutic and preventive effects only with regular use.

To be taken with or after meals

We recommend that you take Omega-3 with food. This is because the fatty acids are better absorbed when taken with food. An empty stomach makes it harder to digest fats, so there is a risk that the body will absorb only a small proportion of the valuable oils. Another important point is that oils should not be heated. Exposure to heat causes the Omega-3 fatty acids to oxidise.

Whether you take Omega-3 in the morning, at lunch or in the evening, it is important to take it with food.

NORSAN Omega-3 oils as part of the daily diet

For children, we recommend our Omega-3 FISK oil. Depending on the age, we recommend the doses shown in the table.

However, virtually all our products are suitable for children. It is important that the dose is calculated according to age and weight*.

Breastfeeding mothers ensure that they and their baby get the optimal amount of fatty acids by consuming 2000 mg of Omega-3 fatty acids daily.

*NORSAN oil recommendation is based on a 75 kg adult. Therefore, a child weighing 15 kg would need approximately ⅕ of the adult recommendation.
